Last year at our WI State barefoot tournament we had a whopping 19 skiers, or so. I know that there are people out there that might come and ski if it didn't cost them so much. I was wondering if there is a one time AWSA membership that a skier could pay to just ski one tournament. Maybe, They would enjoy themselves and come back again the next year and ski more tournaments. Just throwing it out there..

Check out that link for all the info on setting up a grass roots event. Looks like you could run one along side a traditional event then it would only cost someone $35 to ski versus the normal $50 bucks it would cost for full blown AWSA membership. If you are a sanctioned club and are practicing, or holding an exhibition, or putting on a basic skills clinic then the cost is only $7 a person. I ski with a show ski team and this is the form we have guests fill out when attending a practice... Would be nice if it were cheap and easy to get anyone interested in skiing out to a tournament but I guess the insurance demands is what drives the price up?
